What is the coverage difference between Dental Insurance and a Dental Discount plan
All right I am not stupid I know that on a dental discount plan you get discounted saving off your dental services. But want I am wanting to know is would I be lacking in coverages or benefits if I buy a dental discount plan over dental insurance.
I am leaning towards a dental discount plan. However, when I tell my work friends that I may get a discount plan they are all like you should just get dental insurance. They say this but they do not give me any valid reasons why they feel that way. Oh and if it helps our company is paying half of the cost for whatever plan we get. We just have to buy it and they will reimburse us half the cost.

Well many people say things base on thin air. Meaning that they have no real facts or even person experience to believe what they are saying.
Dental discount plan workout well for many people who buy then all day long. If all the dentist that take dental discount plans were no good. Then you could see that given time people would stop buying discount plans.
However that is not the case. More and more people are going towards getting dental discount plans because they are more affordable and they offer savings for any type of dental work.
The key factor make sure you have a dentist that takes the plan. Call the dentist and confirm this prior to buying any dental plan. As long as you know what you are buying and like the discount pricing under the plan what is the real issue?

Do what you feel is best for you not want you friend think. Friends and other people can give you their opinions. However it is up to you to make your choice.
I never had any problems with the dental discount that I got though Aetna called denta choice plus. I get my discounted dental saving and since my dentist took the plan it worked out well for me.

Well I had a dental discount plan once. I did not really care for it. I got the discounted saving but to me over all they were not all that much.
If you want a low cost dental plan that works like a discount plan but is insurance look at an HMO dental insurance plan. That is what I changed to and I do not see my changing back to a discount plan any time soon.
